Mission of G.I.V.E.

At Network Build Grow (NBG), we are committed to creating a community driven by collaboration, cooperation, and accountability. Through G.I.V.E., our Non-Profit Service Group, we aim to forge meaningful connections between our 150+ members and local non-profits serving the diverse needs of Charlotte, NC. Our mission is to be a conduit for generosity, inclusivity, leadership, and community engagement to foster positive change in the Queen City.

• Engaging and Connecting: We build strong community connections and ensure each interaction contributes meaningfully to our shared vision.

Q1: Nourish Up

Nourish Up is dedicated to nourishing our neighbors with food and compassion. This quarter, we raised awareness for their mission by featuring them at our events and promoting their work through our communications. In March, 19 members volunteered at their warehouse to pack food for those in need, significantly contributing to local food security efforts.

Impact:

• Total Volunteer Hours: 38
• 7 pallets packed (546 boxes)
• 11,466 individual meals prepared

Q2: 24 Foundation

24 Foundation inspires and engages communities to support those affected by cancer. We spotlighted their mission and their annual event, 24 Hours of Booty, throughout the quarter. Over 20 members participated in two volunteer sessions in June and July to create luminaries and signs, standing in solidarity with cancer survivors In July, 11 members supported registration and race-day logistics for the 24 Hours of Booty event, while additional members joined a relay team to raise funds for this impactful initiative.

• Total Volunteer Hours: 88
• More than 40 luminaries and signs created for the event
• Nearly $2,500 raised through our relay team

Q3: Promising Pages

Promising Pages focuses on inspiring underserved children through literacy. This quarter, we actively promoted their mission at our events and through our communication channels while collecting new or gently used books. Members also created bookmarks at networking events to encourage reading. In September, 10 members volunteered at the Promising Pages warehouse to clean and prepare donated books.

Impact:

• Total Volunteer Hours: 36
• Over 30 bookmarks created to encourage reading
• 14 boxes of gently used or new books collected (~$1,050 value)

Q4: Matthews Help Center

The Matthews Help Center provides short-term crisis assistance to neighbors in the greater Matthews community. We highlighted their mission throughout the quarter by inviting them to events and promoting their story within our network. Members were encouraged to donate new toys for their holiday drive. In December, 20 members supported the annual holiday shopping event by setting up and volunteering during the event operations.

Impact:

• Total Volunteer Hours: 60.5
• 5 boxes of new toys collected (~$1,000 value)
• $200 in gift cards donated for teens

We are all in this Together!

Through our G.I.V.E. initiative, Network Build Grow has not only strengthened connections within our community but also amplified the impact and visibility of four incredible organizations. By combining hands-on volunteerism with strategic awareness-raising, we have demonstrated the power of collaboration and the transformative effect of consistent, intentional actions. From nourishing neighbors and supporting cancer survivors to promoting literacy and providing holiday joy, our members’ efforts have created ripples of positive change across Charlotte.

As we reflect on the achievements of 2024, we are inspired to continue fostering compassion, service, and growth in the coming year. Together, we will build a stronger, more connected community where every action contributes to a greater good. We look forward to partnering with even more organizations and making an even greater impact in 2025 and beyond.
